St Aloysius College (Autonomous) has been offering the Master’s Degree in Computer Applications for the last 15 years. The MCA course is affiliated to Mangalore University and is approved by AICTE, Delhi.

The College has excellent infrastructure for computer studies. The new IT Building, which houses the PG courses in Computer Applications (MCA, M.Sc.-Software Technology, M.Sc.-Bioinformatics) and the MBA course was inaugurated by Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, the President of India on 28th March 2003.
The IT and MBA Programmes moved to the new location about 12 km from the home campus. This spacious campus has state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure.

The Institute has an excellent rapport with computer Industry, and a majority of students are automatically absorbed by the Industry for projects and placement.

Duration & Eligiblity

Duration: Three years.

Eligibility: The applicant should have scored 50% aggregate marks in BCA/BSc.(Comp. Sc.) or those who have scored 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination ( all the years, B.Sc., B.Com, B.B.M etc), provided the candidate has taken Maths/Business Maths at the PUC level or the Degree level and has scored 50% marks.


Very happy to inform you that 95 students joined the MCA program this year- being the largest number ever. Also 35 candidates joined the two-year MSc. (Software Technology) programme.

All those who would like to apply for MCA at AIMIT, St Aloysius College, Mangalore will have to appear for KMAT test conducted by Association of Private Management PG Colleges or appear for PGCET for the Government Seats.

Lateral Entry to MCA Program

This year there is lateral entry to II MCA for those who have completed BCA or B.Sc. (Comp Science). Only twenty-four candidates who have excelled in PGCET qualify for the Lateral Entry.

Fees: Rs. 1 lac per year+ University Admission fees in the first year.

Scholarships for deserving candidates, based on merit-cum-means are available. Applicants are expected to submit the Application for Financial Aid along with the application form.

There is also special NRI (Payment) quota for a select number of seats. 10% of the candidates will be selected under merit-cum-need fee structure. Those candidates (local) who would like to be considered under merit-cum-need category should apply for financial assistance along with the application form. Financial Aid forms are available at the centre office. Anybody giving false information while applying for Financial Aid is liable to lose his/her seat. Students who have secured ranks in the degree level examinations are eligible for special scholarships.
