The farewell programme ‘Sayonara 2023’ was organised for the final year IT students on February 24 at AIMIT by first year students under the guidance of the coordinators Srinivas B.L and Nausheeda B.S., IT staff.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Hemalatha N, Dean IT, shared her words of wisdom to all the outgoing students and wished them luck to their future endeavours.

In his address, Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ shared an inspiring life lesson to the students by narrating the life of an eagle. “An eagle’s vision is sharp and it preys on living animals instead of the dead ones. It also finds joy in flying during a heavy storm which is very challenging. You should all get inspired by the life of an eagle where we must aim high and should grab opportunities, being optimistic to face any challenges with great determination and perseverance by soaring high above the storm,” he said.

Candle lighting ceremony was held later, where the out-going students came forward with a candle in their hands, and received the blessing from Director Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ and campus director Fr Alwyn D’Souza SJ which symbolised new beginning and new hope.

As a token of remembrance and love, the students were given mementos to cherish their memories in this institution. A video was presented depicting the life of students on the campus. It also included a short message and acknowledgement from the faculty.

First year students gave a cultural programme at the end.
