The AIMIT Hostel Day ‘Aikyam’ was celebrated on February 22, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the Arthur Shenoi Auditorium on the AIMIT campus.

The program began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Nathan. Dr. Fr. Kiran Cotha SJ, the Director of AIMIT, gave a brief introduction, emphasizing that Aikyam signifies oneness, harmony, and belongingness by embracing different traditions and faiths.

Following this, the hostel report was presented. The chief guest, Professor and Former Unit Head of the Department of Orthopedics, Dr. Lawrence Mathias, from Justice K.S. Hegde Hospital, Mangalore, highlighted that hostel life fosters resilience, character building, teamwork, and mutual respect for different perspectives and beliefs.

The Guest of Honour, Rector Fr. Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ, spoke about how hostel life instils resilience that stays for a lifetime. This was followed by the distribution of prizes to the winners of the Hostel Sports Day competitions.

The hostel residents then showcased their diverse talents, including folk dances from Karnataka, Kerala, and Goa, instrumental Singing and cinematic dance, mime, modern and vintage dance performances and a skit.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Rajath C., the hostel leader, followed by a sumptuous dinner that brought the evening to a delightful close.
