On the August 6, 2020, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), AIMIT, Beeri Campus came together with Association of Public Health Technologists (APT), Bangalore and Sarosh Institute of Hotel Administration, Mangalore, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to promote education and research in the domain of digital health, and food and nutrition, respectively.

The MOU was signed by Mr Rakesh, Vice President, APT, and Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ, Director, AIMIT, in the presence of Santhosh Rebello (Dean), Rakesh Kumar (asst professor) and Dr S Ruban (associate professor and coordinatorof PG Dept of Information Technology), AIMIT.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Pinto said that AIMIT must excel in Interdisciplinary research and actively involve in collaborative programmes that would create an impact in society. Mr Rakesh, Vice President, APT, expressed his wholehearted support towards working together for digital health initiatives.

Artificial intelligence is transforming the healthcare industry and this MOU would help students at AIMIT to learn and contribute to the domain of digital health actively, said DrRuban. He thanked Dr Sudhir Prabhu and Dr Balu P.S., from APT, Bangalore for their support and cooperation towards this initiative.

The second MOU was signed with Sarosh Institute of Hotel Administration (SIHA), Mangalore. Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ and Prof Amar Cherian, Principal, SIHA signed the agreement in the presence of Prof Uday Menon (asstprofessor) and Prof Dhanya C Menon(asst professor) of SIHA and Santhosh Rebello (dean), Rakesh Kumar (asst professor) and Dr S Ruban.
Prof Amar Cherian expressed his support towards working together for research programmes in food, diet and nutrition. These partnerships are aimed at creating an exchange of material in education and research, publication and academics, opined Dr Ruban.
