Almasons Consulting conducted a hackathon competition for the students of IT department of AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University) on November 7. A total of five students won the hackathon. Harshitha P, a final year student of MCA bagged the first prize of Rs 20,000. Amal Mathew, final year student of MCA, won the runner up prize of Rs 10,000 and Varenya Vinay final year Big Data Analytics and Hrithik of final year MCA won the consolation prize of Rs 5,000 each.

In his inaugural message Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ, Director of AIMIT, said that this was golden time for IT students. “There are very many job opportunities for IT students. However, it is important that IT students become skillful. Hence, students must work very hard to be jo-ready,” he said.

Jerome Mascarenhas, chief technology officer Almasons Consulting gave a detailed presentation about the company such as journey of Almasons, their platform, and products.“The company started with a three member team in the year 2013 and soon we grew to be an 80-staff orgnisation. Almasons became the global partner with Honeywell in 2015 and soon we developed e-sign in 2019 and AR solutions in 2022,” he said. Heencouraged all the students to perform their best in the hackathon.

Joe Mascarenhas, chief information officer at Almasons Consulting, Dr Hemalatha N., Dean (IT),AIMIT and other associates of Almasons were present. A total of 150 students from IT Department participated in the hackathon.
