To mark World Environment Day 2025, the Department of MBA, AIMIT of St Aloysius Deemed to be University, in collaboration with Plastics for Change, organized a Beach Cleaning Drive on June 1, 2025, at Ullal Beach and Kasba Bengre. The initiative, held under the World Environment Day themes of “Ending Plastic Pollution,” brought together over 220 student volunteers to take active responsibility for environmental sustainability.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Dr. Fr Kiran Coth SJ emphasized, “We must voluntarily take responsibility to care for our planet. It begins with simple, collective actions like this.” Students cleaned large stretches of the coast, collected plastic waste by segregation of plastic and non-plastic wastes. The event reinforced AIMIT’s commitment to the UN SDGs, especially Goal 13 (Climate Action) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The drive concluded with a renewed pledge towards environmental responsibility and conscious living.
