Bioinformatics association inaugurated

The Bioinformatics department association inaugural ceremony was held on March 11. It is also the birthday of Prof. Margret Oakley Dayhoff, the founder of Bioinformatics.

Dr Alwyn D’Sa, Registrar of St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University) was the chief guest of the programme. The name of the association ‘Infogenix’ was unveiled by the chief guest.

Dr D’Sa, appreciated the students for having such an association and inspired them to discover beyond the curriculum, focus on research and explore more through such platform. As a first event of Infogenix, a Bioinformatics-Quiz competition was conducted by Hanna and team for the students of various departments and winners were honoured.

Dean of IT Dr Hemalatha, coordinator of the programme from IT department Anushree Raj, association president Avil Alva and secretory Samiha Sheik were present.

Bhavishya gave the vote of thanks. Anvitha Ferros compered the programme.
