One-day workshop for students of BSc Microbiology, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University) was conducted on June 17 by the Department of MSc. Bioinformatics, AIMIT. Three sessions for the day were, ‘Introduction to bioinformatics’ by Dr Hemalatha, Dean of IT and ‘Bioinformatics – scope and career’ by Ms. Anushree Raj, Department of IT & Bioinformatics followed by hands on sessions to explore on bioinformatic tools.
There were 56 students of first and final year Microbiology who attended the workshop. The sessions were interactive and helped students to explore bioinformatic tools. Students were made aware of the field of Bioinformatics.
