Data Science course inaugurated at AIMIT

The inaugural ceremony of Department of Data Science was held on December 13 at AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University). Dr Hemalatha N, Dean IT, escorted the dignitaries to the dais. The programme began with an invocation prayer song.

Officials from MResult Services Pvt Ltd, industry partners of Data Science course, were present on the occasion. Mathi Venkat, senior vice president, Data Science, Ms. Padmashree Alva, director, talent acquisition and initiations, Shivanand Shetty, senior director, Data Science and Lanwin, director, Data Science from MResult were present.

In his message, Mr Venkat gave students an insight of Data Science in the IT industry and how it can be used as a foundation to build a career in the IT world. He then explained how important it is to ask questions and widen knowledge in the day-to-day life.

Director Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ and Registrar, Dr Alwyn D’Sa shared their thoughts on the occasion. Principal Dr (Fr) Praveen Martis SJ called upon the students to take every opportunity to grow as a data scientist.
Disha proposed the vote of thanks. Bhoomika welcomed the gathering. The inaugural ceremony was coordinated by Dean Dr Hemalatha N and Dr Jeevan Pinto.
