MSc. Data Science department of AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University) on behalf of student Association D-Alchemy organised a talk on ‘Dealing with the Pandora’s Box’ on January 20. The resource person for the talk was Ryan Joseph D’Souza from Aptar Group, France.

Rayan Joseph D’Souza’s presentation covered a range of topics, starting with a detailed exploration of the distinctions between a Data Scientist, Data Engineer, and Data Analyst. He then shifted the focus to the education system in Europe, emphasising the importance of effective time management in academic and professional pursuits.

He also shared valuable insights into essential skills for interview success and future career development in the field of data science. Furthermore, Mr D’Souza provided practical information on advanced Excel usage towards adding a dimension to theoretical knowledge.

The session concluded with an interactive question and answer segment, allowing students to seek clarification and engage directly with the speaker.

Dr Hemalatha, Dean of the IT department, and S. Aravinda Prabhu, coordinator, Data Science department, were present.

Students of Data Science and Big Data Analytics departments attended the session.
