The Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) – 2025 was successfully conducted on 8th May 2025 at the Arthur Shenoy Auditorium, AIMIT, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru. Organized by the MBA Department, the full-day event commenced at 9:00 a.m. and concluded at 4:15 p.m. The guest of honour, Mr. Ullas Kamath, a renowned entrepreneur and Joint Managing Director at Jyothi Labs , speaking on the occasion, “We need to have a positive mindset, right attitude and leadership quality and embrace the entrepreneurial spirit and take the leap into the world of startups.”

During the event, chief guest Mr Ullas Kamath, distributed certificates from Santa Clara University to the participants.

Director Dr (Fr) Kiran Coth SJ in his address said, “To be an entrepreneur, it requires to think beyond yourself.” He called upon students to let go of fear and think out the box to become future entrepreneurs, and to possess the ability and vision required for success.

The annual Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) at the MBA department showcased expert insights from established entrepreneurs. Mr. Ajay Kamath, Assisstant Vice President of Federal Bank, who spoke on the topic of from idea to expertise ,banking on your startup dreams . He shared his personal experiences and emphasized the entrepreneurial lifecycle, highlighting strategies such as customer and financial centricity. He also introduced the concept of HAIR (Helicopter view, Analysis, Imagination, and Realism) as key traits for entrepreneurial success. Mrs. Vathika Pai, Propreitor of Vathika International Travels spoke on “Entrepreneurship and Youth.” She engaged students with interactive questions and discussed the qualities, skills, challenges, and advantages of becoming an entrepreneur in the current era. She stressed the importance of continual learning, technological updates, market access, and societal influence, while encouraging students to explore opportunities in agro-products, handlooms, local produce, tourism, digital marketing, and hospitality. The afternoon session was taken over by young intrapreneur and drummer Master Jithan Arun, who shared his journey in music and adventure sports and delivered an inspiring performance that was captivating. His mother, Mrs. Sheebha, also addressed the audience, sharing key entrepreneurial values and presenting hoodies as a token of appreciation to top-performing students.

The event also included a session titled ‘Mentoprich’, Mrs. Shifali Saldanha, Senior Analyst at Oracle , alumna of MBA batch 2017 -19, Miss India Contienet 2019 and a freelance Fashion model, who led a discussion with AIMIT student entrepreneurs. Their ventures ranged from baking cakes , modeling and art management, underscoring the need for solving real-world problems. This live mentoring session offered student entrepreneurs a platform to present their startup ideas and receive insightful feedback from experts. Active participants included Ms. Mahalakshmi Bhat, Ms. Bianca viola Saldanha, Ms. Prathiksha, and Mr. Prithvi Prakash . Following Mrs Shifali Saldanha gave some insights on glamour industry and business.

Earlier, Dean of Academics and Research of MBA Dr Rajani Suresh delivered welcome address and Dr Swapna Rose, the faculty coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks . The programme was compered by Ms Mahalakshmi, along with student coordinators Mr Prithvi Prakash and Ms Laveena Nightingle.
