Freshers’ Day was held for the I year hostel students of AIMIT hostels on Monday, November 28. The II year hostel students under the able leadership of office bearers put up a short cultural progaramme to welcome the new comers.

Two students, Jeevith Sequeira and Sharal Fernandes, shared their beautiful experiences of hostel life.Few fun games were organised in which the first years took active part and won many attractive prizes.Sharing his experience Jeevith said that hostel is a place which provides enjoyable stay, opportunities to learn, play, grow and build true and lasting friendships. “It’s a place which contains thousands of memories and a place which we are surely going to miss when we leave from here,” he said.

Sharal said that the hostel life has been a wonderful journey filled with fun and learning. “It’s a home away from home, because it’s a place we are cared for, loved and are asked to lead a disciplined life and are helped to reach our goals,” she added.

In the absence of Dr (Fr)Melwyn Pinto SJ, Director, Sr Lizzy Ann, the warden addressed the gathering and extended a warm welcome to the I years wishing them well for their study and happy stay in the hostels. Fr Joel Fernandes SJ, sub warden, assisted by Fr Alwyn D’Souza SJ, coordinated the programme. Vanessa Gokavi, hostel leader, proposed vote of thanks.
