The inaugural programme began with a welcome note by Dr Ruban, HOD, Department of Software Technology, followed by a prayer service. Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ, Director, AIMIT, followed it through with a short meditation.
In his inaugural address Fr Pinto spoke about the history of Jesuit education in India and across the globe. He highlighted the importance of communication, soft skills and academic excellence in studies. “The goal of Jesuit education is the overall development of the student. It is not enough to just get good marks and make a career; you must also be prepared to face life as it comes. Be good professionals and good human beings,” he said.
Soon after the inaugural Mrs Laveena D’Costa and Dr Ruban gave a brief introduction to the MSc Software Technology and MSc Big Data Analytics courses, respectively and instructed them with general guidelines.
