Hostel Sports Day 2022 was inaugurated on March 24 by director of the hostel Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ. In his address he encourages students to grow in unity as they take part in various events scheduled to be held on the sports day. “As they say, sports do not build character, but reveals it. Playground and dining table are the two places which reveal our true character. Team sports always teach us to cooperate with each other. It is not important to always win. Taking part in various competitions itself has a value,” he said.
Four groups have been formed to take part in various sports events to be held on Sunday March 27. The sports day is organised in view of the upcoming hostel day to be held in the first week of April.
In his message, Fr Joel Fernandes, the sub warden, congratulated the office bearers for doing all the hard work to organise the sports events. Sr Lissy, the hostel warden was present. Team captains were symbolically given sports items as part of the inauguration. Fr Melwyn unveiled the banner to inaugurate the sports day. Br Sandeep Gonsalves conducted ice breakers.
