The staff of St Aloysius PU College, Harihar and Loyola College, Manvi began their Jesuits in Collaboration (JESCOL) programme here at AIMIT on November 30, 2020. The four-day workshop has eminent Jesuits lined up to communicate Jesuit heritage to the teachers.

In his key-note address to the staff, the Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Melwin J. Pinto SJ said that JESCOL invites educators from all backgrounds, irrespective of religion to share in the grand vision of Jesuit education. “Jesuit apostolate is to bring about a change in society through education by inspiring students to become agents of social change, secondly to encounter God in all things and thirdly to become men and women for and with others,” he added.

Fr Jerome D’Souza SJ and Fr Jossy D’Mello were the resource persons for the training programme on the First Day. While Fr D’Souza dealt with the history of Jesuits, Fr D’Mello touched upon various aspects of Jesuit spirituality.

The Principal of Loyola College, Manvi, Dr (Fr) Melwyn D’Cunha SJ, Director of St Aloysius PU College, Harihar, Fr Eric Mathias SJ were present. Thirty eight staff members from the two colleges are taking part in the JESCOL programme.
