‘Mastering the word’ webinar held

The webinar on ‘Mastering the spoken word’ was held on May 14, 2021 conducted by the MBA department of AIMIT, on zoom platform. Clifford D’Costa, assistant professor of MBA department was the resource person for the webinar. There were 80 participants who joined the webinar.

Dr Dhananjaya K began the session by welcoming the students and introducing the MBA department, AIMIT. Mr Clifford took over the session with the presentation by highlighting the
cognisance of some tips and tricks to master one’s communication skills that precisely work in oral communication. “One may have command over English, possess deep insights into the content to be delivered. Yet one lack the necessary skills to transmit one’s ideas to the audience in a manner that is easily comprehensible,” he said.

He explained how most people do not listen with the intent to understand, they listen with the intent to reply. The resource person also explained the importance of pitch modulation to keep the listener engaged.

The webinar ended with an open question hour session.
