Ranked 80thAIMIT Management Development and Consulting Center conducted a two day Program on The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 on August 17 and 18, 2018. Delegates from various banks from all over India participated in this workshop, with representation from the Academic Community from St Joseph’s Engineering, College Mangaluru..
Prof. Lionel Aranha, a Chartered Accountant, consultant and adjunct faculty at IIM Kozhikode was the main resource person. Dr. Meera Aranha, Former AGM Karnataka Bank Ltd was invited to share her experience on recoveries. Mr. Naveen Narayan, Chartered Accountant and visiting Faculty at XLRI shared an update on the Bhushan Steel Case being a successful implementation of the IBC. Fr. Denzil Lobo S.J. inaugurated the program with a beautiful bhajan and updated about AIMIT’s previous MDPs. Mr. Rajendra Desai, Dean, MDCC introduced the program and the resource persons.
Prof. Aranha brought out the salient aspects of the IBC and shared his perspective on cases which are under the IBC. He also shared thoughts on how the participants could clear the Insolvency Professional Certification Examination. The participants took away a lot of learning from the sessions and expressed great satisfaction with the program content and delivery.
The Management Development and Consulting Center at AIMIT has planned many such niche programmes in this academic year to deliver learning and value to corporates.
