The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Nilesh Crasta, Administrator of FMHM, Deralakatte, as the main celebrant. He was joined by Dr. Fr. Kiran Coth, Director of AIMIT, along with Fr. Manoj, Fr. Avinash, and Fr. Sijo, who concelebrated the festive Mass.
In his homily, Fr. Nilesh highlighted the virtues of Mother Mary, drawing attention to her obedience and sense of responsibility as a mother. He further emphasized the importance of children being obedient not only to their biological mothers but also to Mother Earth by showing care and respect for the environment.
Earlier in the celebration, the new corn was blessed by Dr. (Fr.) Manoj Dsouza SJ, followed by a devotional procession with the statue of infant Mother Mary carried in a palanquin.
The celebration, which marks the birthday of Mother Mary, was also a reminder of the value of family and the significance of honoring the girl child.
