The session was aimed at introducing the students to the ocean of opportunities lying ahead using technology in the area of health care. The students were informed about real life health scenarios and the practical problems where technology can assist doctors and health care professionals. Dr. Rai elaborated on the need for students to come up with innovative technical solutions that can be used in the hospital.
Dr. Shivshankar, Professor of the Biochemistry department and member of the research committee at FMMC, explained the present lab investigation scenarios and how technology can assist to provide better patient care.
The last session was handled by Dr. Achal Shetty, who works as an assistant professor with the Department of Community Medicine. He took students through a journey of the technology assistance since the time stethoscope was invented. He also narrated few existing innovative usages of artificial intelligence in healthcare in our country.
The session was an eye-opener for the students. As a follow-up measure, all the students are taking up live projects in healthcare. All these technical projects will be done with the help of the domain expertise from the FMMC research team headed by Dr. Sanjeev Rai, and the technical expertise from the PG Department of Information Technology, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), AIMIT Centre Centre Centre.
The interactive session was coordinated and arranged by Dr. S. Ruban, Associate Professor and HOD of PG Department of Software Technology, AIMIT Centre Centre Centre. The students will now be working with real-time projects during the course of the study and will be industry-ready when they complete the course.
