A One-day national level research capacity building faculty development programme (FDP) under the UGC STRIDE scheme titled ‘Handshake with Data Analytics using Jamovi’ was held on August 16 at the AIMIT campus of St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), Mangalore.
The FDP was inaugurated, by Dr (Fr) Praveen Martis SJ, Principal (St Aloysius College). Speaking on the occasion, FrMartisstressed the need for cultivating research culture among the teaching community and he wished that this FDP would stimulate the researching community to do better.
The Resource person Prof. Balwinder Singh,Dean, Guru Nanak Dev university, Amritsar, Punjab, deliberated the uprise of various open source softwares, that can help a researching community at large.
There were two forenoon sessions and two afternoon sessions. All the sessions were hands-on sessions. The sessions were a great time of learning with every participant executing the programmes in the lab.
At the valedictory, some participants gave their feedback. All were very positive about the sessions.
Earlier, Prof. Singh was felicitated by the management and was presented with a unique memento. Dr Alwyn D’Sa,, Registrar of St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), and Coordinator STRIDE scheme, Dr Ruban S and Ms Sumitha Achar, staff coordinators were present.
Sixty-five were present for the FDP.
