Monthi Fest, the Nativity of Mother Mary, was joyfully celebrated at AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), on September 7. Fr Melwin D’Cunha SJ, dean of research (SAC) was the main celebrant.

In his homily, Fr D’Cunha, said that more than focusing on our outer attire and celebrations, it was important to delve into the true significance of the nativity festival. He also shared a story about a magician who imparted a valuable life lesson using a watch. In this story, ‘W’ symbolized words, ‘A’ represented actions, ‘T’ stood for one’s thoughts, and ‘CH’ signified character and honesty.

Non teaching staff and students of AIMIT joined the choir which was coordinated by Mr.Praveen D’Souza, librarian. New corns were blessed at the mass by Fr Jeevan Prabhu from Kohima Jesuit region. After the mass, traditional payasam and sugarcane were distributed to all.

This special festival marks the birthday of Mother Mary and is also dedicated to celebrating family and girl child.
