An orientation programme for I year MBA and IT students was conducted on November 15 at AIMIT. The programme began with a short prayer service to invoke the blessings of God.

The department deans Dr Hemalatha N. (IT) and Dr Dhananjaya K. (MBA) gave the respective course overview and introduced teaching and non-teaching staffs to the students.

Director Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ, addressed the students by introducing AIMIT and Jesuit educations.In his talk he spoke about how Jesuit education is different. He said that the students are expected to study and behave well, but most importantly be skillful and resourceful. He told the students to show hunger and passion to achieve something great in life.He concluded his talk with a quote by William Shakespeare: “Have more than you show and speak less than you know”.

Sumitha Achar, department of MBA, made the students aware of rules and regulations of the College. Praveen D’Souza, the librarian,spoke about AIMIT library and the importance of reading.

Krishna A.V., the placement coordinator, gave a glimpse about the placement cell and its guidelines. Dr Ruban S., HOD of M.Sc. Software Technology, in his concluding remarks to IT students said quoting A.P.J Abdul Kalam: ‘A dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep’.

Students went to their respective departments soon after and interacted with their mentors.
