A one-day workshop on leadership for undergraduate students was held on June 17, 2022 at AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru. A total of 105 undergraduate students (B Com and BBA) from St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), attended the workshop.

Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ inaugurated the workshop. In his inaugural address, Fr Melwyn urged the participants to develop them as competent professionals. Fr Melwyn stressed the role of developing leadership qualities in attaining competency and success.

The workshop consisted of three sessions. Dr Rajani Suresh, Dean of MBA department was the resource person for the first session on Communication Strategies. Dr Rajani Suresh highlighted the significance of effective communication in achieving superior leadership qualities. She also narrated the extent to which communication plays a pivotal role in spreading information about company`s culture, values and mission. She further conducted an experiential exercise to highlight the role of communication in building trust.

Followed by the session on communication, a Business Quiz was conducted by Justine James, from MBA department. The afternoon session was led by Sumitha Achar from MBA department. Ms Sumitha described the importance of pursuing higher education and changing the mindset to create right attitude to prosper in education. She narrated various winning traits for professional success such as faith, hope, confidence, leadership and teamwork. The session was ended with two experiential exercises on leadership and teamwork.

The workshop was concluded with a treasure hunt organised by MBA students. Preetham D`Cunha and Krishnendu TP (student coordinators of Inception 2022), along with student volunteers from I and II MBA managed the various events and sessions in the workshop.
