First year students from Social Marketing class of the Department of MBA, AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, under the aegis of the Marketing Club were involved in a beach cleaning drive at Someshwara beach.
The beach clean-up involved more than 50 students who gathered together early in the morning on Saturday, April 2, 2022, to collect beach trash to make the beach a nicer, safer place and also to improve the coastal and ocean ecosystem. The volunteers brought in their own trash bags and worked spiritedly to clean up the beach and also helped to segregate the waste they gathered and aid in their disposal.
Dr Rajani Suresh, Dean MBA, was present during the beach cleaning drive. “The students took active part in the activity. It was a learning process for them in becoming socially conscious and environmentally sensitive,” Dr Rajani Suresh said.
