The event began with a prayer service seeking for God’s blessings. Chaithra Krishna, student coordinator, welcomed the gathering and Stuart Olivera, another student coordinator gave a brief introduction about TechiSTic – 2021.
Director Dr (Fr) Melwyn Pinto SJ addressed the gathering and declared the fest open. In his address, he spoke about the growth of IT in recent days and how virtual medium was now the new normal. Dr Hemalatha N, Dean (academics), IT, in her address spoke about empowering the youth and the vision of this Institute.
There were 55 teams from 20 colleges from all over Karnataka taking part in the fest. The winners of the four events were as follows:
Codadept- debug your soul – event for Coding and debugging. Winners of the event were Daniya Shaikh from St Agnes College, Mangalore; runners up – Devadiga Kavya from Dr B B Hegde First Grade College, Kundapura.
Quizzical- unlocking knowledge – quiz event for battle of brains. The Winners were Jason D’Souza and Skanda Bhat from SDM College Of Business Management, Mangalore; runners up – Alistair D’Souza and Sarwin Chandran from St Aloysius College, Mangalore.
Masked hunt- the eureka moment: treasure hunt event. The winners were Meghana Shetty, Swarna Shetty, Smriti Shettigar and Tasbiha Kausar from SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore.
Pixel play- dream, create play: event for Video making. The winners were Sai Sudarshan from Canara College; runners up – S. Pavan Kumar Nayak from Canara College.
The valedictory ceremony was hosted by Joyliya, and Ms Dhanya Kedambedi proposed the welcome speech. All the winners and runners-up were rewarded with gift vouchers and all participants were given participation certificates.
