‘Unboxing AI: Engaging with Healthcare professionals and Medical Data’, a faculty development programme (FDP) – for doctors and faculty member’s/research scholars of the Information Technology department was inaugurated on November 20. This was the second FDP on the same topic to be held at AIMIT this year.

Dr Antony Sylvan D’Souza MBBS, MS (Anatomy), Dean, Father Muller Medical College (FMCG), inaugurated the FDP. Speaking on the occasion, Dr D’Souza emphasised the change that is happening in healthcare and how technology is changing and redefining patient care.

Director of AIMIT, (Dr) Fr Melwyn Pinto SJ spoke on the role of AI in various walks of life and its importance in today’s world. Earlier, Dr Hemalatha, Dean of IT, AIMIT, welcomed the gathering.

Twenty two participants from ten institutions participated in this hands-on training workshop. The resource persons for this workshop were Dr Sudhir Prabhu, professor and HOD, Department of Community Medicine, FMCG; Lanwin Lobo, director, Data Science and ML, MResult Service Private Ltd and Dr S. Ruban, associate professor and HOD, Software Technology department, AIMIT.

The workshop was organised by AIMIT and coordinated by Dr S Ruban, Suchetha Vijay and Roshan Suvaris, faculty members of the Information Technology department.
