A day-long workshop on ‘case method teaching and mapping learning outcomes’ for the faculty members of the department of MBA was held at AIMIT, St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University) on November 17. The resource person for the workshop was Dr Prashant Yatgiri, Associate Professor (Marketing Area), co-chairperson, Corporate Engagement, Co-Chairperson – MBA (Core) programme, TAPMI, Manipal.

The goal of the workshop was to ensure that faculty members at the department of MBA were familiar with the modern approach to case method as a teaching learning pedagogy in the management classroom.

The workshop had four sessions. The first session was on creating a connect between methodology and outcomes and exposed the faculty members to practical elements in this area. The second session involved how to use case-based teaching in the classroom and create learning outcomes and proved beneficial to the faculty members.

Session 3 involved a description on how the faculty members could teach using cases. The next session was a practical case session where the faculty presented on clean edge razors a Harvard case study shared a few days ago with the participants. The workshop helped faculty members to redesign their teaching pedagogy. The faculty members unanimously provided very positive feedback on the planning of the workshop content, the superlative workshop delivery and the applicability of the workshop in developing their approach to case teaching in the classroom.
