Introduction
Management
On this joyous and memorable occasion, we take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to two remarkable individuals who have played an instrumental role in shaping the AIMIT hostel community. Our sincere thanks go to the former Director, Dr. (Fr.) Melwyn Pinto SJ, whose visionary leadership and unwavering commitment laid the foundation for fostering a vibrant and supportive environment within the hostels. Equally, we extend our deep appreciation to Fr. Jason Martis SJ, the dedicated sub-warden, whose tireless efforts and compassionate guidance have significantly contributed to the holistic growth and well-being of our hostellers. We are truly indebted to them for their invaluable dedication and unwavering support.
The AIMIT hostels are proud to be home to a diverse and vibrant community of 296 students who bring energy and life to our campus. Among them, 152 are girls residing in the Mother Teresa and Gonzaga hostels, while 144 boys reside in the Loyola hostel. This thriving residential environment not only provides a space for living but also fosters friendships, cultural exchange, and personal growth. The students represent a cross-stitch of backgrounds and aspirations, creating a dynamic atmosphere where they learn, grow, and support one another in their academic and personal journeys.

Infrastructure
For academic support, students have access to incubation facilities and a library, creating spaces conducive to learning and innovation. This year, the hostels have embraced digital transformation by introducing modern systems for admissions, attendance, leave applications, and gate passes, streamlining processes and making them more efficient. Additionally, new washing machines have been installed in all three hostels, making daily life more convenient for residents.
Sports and games are an integral part of hostel life at AIMIT, with ample opportunities for students to engage in recreational and competitive activities. Indoor games like chess, carrom, and table tennis, as well as outdoor sports such as basketball, football, volleyball, throwball, badminton, and cricket, are regularly enjoyed by the students, fostering teamwork and a spirit of healthy competition.
The hostels are also complemented by excellent dining services. Under the leadership of Mr. Roshan D’Souza, the Food Court Manager, and his dedicated team, students are treated to delicious and nutritious meals that cater to their varied tastes and preferences. Together, these facilities and services create a vibrant, supportive, and enriching hostel experience, enabling students to thrive both academically and personally.

Boarders are also not permitted to change rooms in the middle of the academic year. In case the boarder wishes to change rooms, a written permission signed by the Head of the Institution and the Assistant Director (Student Affairs) is required. If a boarder fails to pay his/her dues to the hostel by the appointed time, then he/she will forfeit the room as rooms are allotted on payment only.

The hostels also embrace and celebrate significant religious and cultural occasions with great enthusiasm. The Monthi Feast, a cherished local celebration of the Nativity of Mother Mary, was observed with novena prayers and the traditional offering of flowers, reflecting devotion and unity. Additionally, each hostel honored the feast day of its respective patron—Aloysius Gonzaga, Ignatius Loyola, and Mother Teresa—with a short yet meaningful prayer service followed by the joyful sharing of sweets, strengthening the bond among residents.
This year, in a special effort to celebrate diversity and promote inclusivity, inter-religious prayers and a vibrant program were organized on the occasion of Deepavali. The event highlighted the spirit of harmony and mutual respect, allowing students from all backgrounds to come together and celebrate the festival of lights with joy and understanding.
Christmas Celebration
In addition to the festive celebrations, the Hostel Sports Day 2024 added another exciting chapter to the year. The event was inaugurated on November 25th, 2024, by the director, who, in his address, emphasized the importance of sports as a natural medicine to maintain physical and mental well-being. On December 1st, the hostel community came together to celebrate the Sports Day with tremendous energy and enthusiasm. The day began with a grand march past, setting the tone for a series of well-organized sports events. The entire day was filled with camaraderie, competitive spirit, and fun as students demonstrated their athletic abilities while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. It was a day of celebration and unity, highlighting the vibrant and dynamic life at the AIMIT hostels.
